About Us

The Navy League of Canada

Founded in 1895, the Navy League of Canada is a national, volunteer led organization, with a broad-based mandate to promote Maritime Affairs. With a presence in over 230 communities across Canada the Navy League operates the largest maritime-themed youth programmes in the country, Royal Canadian Sea Cadets and Navy League Cadets.

These cadet programmes incorporate lots of FUN, using a traditional Naval theme as a platform to develop patriotism, good citizenship, leadership skills, self-discipline and respect for others, as well as effective communication and organizational skills.

Each of the cadet programs are supported by a local branch of The Navy League of Canada. For over 70 years, the Lethbridge Branch has carried out the functions of the Navy League in support of Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps (RCSCC) CHINOOK and Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC) LETHBRIDGE.

Our Branch

The primary roles and responsibilities of the Branch are:

  • Administration
  • Managing and raising funds
  • Public Relations and Community Liaison
  • Recruiting volunteers to deliver the cadet programs
  • Ensuring the programs are delivered effectively
